CARE INSTRUCTIONS FOR PAINTED LEATHER ARTWORK
With the proper care and handling, your painted leatherwear will provide you years of enjoyment as well as be a unique conversation piece.
CLEANING:
If your hand painted leather requires cleaning, use a slightly damp cloth to clean. DO NOT use any chemicals or cleaning solutions or any material that is caustic, toxic, or abrasive. Please make sure you read all the instructions before applying any chemicals on your leather. We will not be responsible for any damage to your leather resulting from the use of any leather care product available on the market. With time, even the best quality leather can lose its resiliency and luster. Therefore, you should apply leather care cream to the leather every now and then. However, make sure to test the leather first in an obscure area and read all instructions on the label fully.
DO NOT use baby wipes to clean your leather as they will break down the leather’s finish and will eventually ruin it.
DO NOT store or display artwork in direct sunlight or in areas with high moisture content (bathroom, basement, etc.).
DO NOT store or display artwork in areas of extreme temperature ranges (i.e.: a hot car in the summer, a cold car in freezing weather, near or on heating elements or near fire, fireplaces, wood stoves, etc.).
DO NOT leave your painted leather piece in areas where it may be punctured or maimed by an animal or family pet.
AS WITH ANY WEARABLE ART, IT IS UNDERSTOOD THAT OVER TIME (AND WEAR), THE PAINT MAY BECOME MARRED, CHIPPED, FADED, OR SOILED.
IF TOUCH-UPS OR RESTORATION IS NEEDED, THEY MAY BE DONE AT THE EXPENSE OF THE CLIENT.
STORING: In the off season, you can clean and store your leather in a closet on a sturdy, non-plastic hanger. The closet should be dry and have low humidity. DO NOT store other leather products on your painted leather piece. DO NOT store in a plastic garment bag.
